Energy Rationing: Goal 13 Of The United Nations: We need to “Mob The Mic” to wrestle the agenda away from climate alarmists

“Mob the mic.” That is what climate activists have done over and over at City of Ottawa committee meetings and public events. This happens repeatedly across the U.S. and Canada whenever public meetings allow questions or statements from the audience. By monopolizing the microphone and essentially taking over the Q&A following presentations, news conferences, and committee meetings, as well as in public delegations, environmentalists give the impression that their groups are larger and their supporters more numerous than they really are. Not only does this intimidate citizens who might otherwise speak out in opposition to expensive climate action, but it also gives the impression to our political leaders and the press that the majority of the public is entirely behind their useless climate plans.

A good example of climate activists applying the “mob the mic” approach occurred with the “delegations” presented during the February 21, 2023, City of Ottawa Environment and Climate Change Committee. No less than seven climate alarmists presented, while I was the only realist presenting. Considering climate activists were presenting the same scientifically-unfounded talking points over and over, it is difficult to believe that they were not coordinated.

This tactic is directly out of Rules for Radicals, Saul Alinsky’s 1971 classic “how to” manual on grassroots organizing. Hillary Clinton wrote her graduating year thesis on Alinsky, and indeed, following the “rules” laid out in the book has been immensely successful for “progressives.”
